6 - TRACK AND AGE GROUP

May participate in the competiiton, all licensed swimmers, from (Federação Portuguesa de Natação/Portuguese Swimming Federation)  FPN Open Water or Open Water Master.

7 - CIRCUIT AND START RESTRITIONS

This competition is to be played on a single journey in an irregular polygon, with a length of 3000m. Swimmers must complete 1 round to meet the distance. The course will be conducted in a clockwise direction, requiring the athletes to always leave the buoys, at their right, with the exception of the first. The route will be marked by at least 5 buoys. These buoys will have to be necessarily circumvented as indicated, under penalty of disqualification.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The circuit presented may be changed on race day for security reasons, bad weather or other.

 

DEPARTURE:

The match will be performed with jumping or diving from the pier / jetty of matches

Start specifics

Acordingly to the number of athletes it may be necessary to divide the event in more than one start sequence, in group numbers never superior to 50 elements and in a minimum of 2 minutes delay between sequences.

 

ARRIVAL:

The final exam will be considered after the touch of the hand inflatable horizontal structure placed about 50 cm above the water surface at the end of the arrivals cone with a length of approximately 25 meters.

 

8 - CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
When enrolling on the competition, the participants accept and agree to:
- have properly prepared and possess the physical strength necessary for such a competition, participating at their own risk in this event. 
- In the event of failing to meet the time limit established for the competition, the referee team can retrieve you from the water.
- The organization may cancel the event for safety reasons, such as storms, bad water conditions at the surface, or other situations that may manifestly endanger the physical safety of participants, with no right to a refund of the registration fee.
- being photographed and filmed during the event, and such images be disclosed or used by the organization or the Portuguese Swimming Federation for promotional purposes.
- be fully acknowledged of event’s rules and regulations governing the FPN evidence Swimming.
- Your registration will only be validated after delivery of the disclaimer.

9 - GENERAL PROVISIONS
- The safety and support along the race will be of the responsibility of the Organization and ensured by various vessels, according to the stipulations of General Regulation of the Portuguese Swimming Federation.

- In addition to the support boats referred to in the previous paragraph the Organization will have at the service of the participants the following means: one (1) ambulance with paramedics and medical care at the Hospital of Viana do Castelo.
- The organization is not liable for injury or damage to participants suffer or will suffer during the race. Similarly, the organization will not be responsible for damage or injury that may be caused by participants during the race, due to poor sporting conduct or disregard for rules.
- The organization reserves the right to prohibit participation in the event or to collect during the course, individuals who do not show the proper technical and physical skills to finish the race safely.
- The use of headgear is mandatory and is the responsibility of the same. Swimmers will be marked with the appropriate number on the back, shoulders and hands, according to FINA Rules.
- The use of isothermal suit or any auxiliary means of propulsion, floating or breathing is not allowed.
- It is mandatory to present proper identification and Identity federation license if required by the organization.


10 - REGISTRATION / FEES
- Registration can be done individually or in teams, and should be submitted through the event’s website, or using the form provided by the organization and sent to meetingsraagonia@gmail.com.
- Entries will only be considered valid after confirmation of payment.
- The liability waiver, signed by himself or by the legal guardian in the case of underage participants is mandatory, and as to be delivered to the administrative office for the race, on the day of the event.

- All individual participants may also enroll in the team competition by simply constitute a mixed team of 4 elements (2 swimmers of each gender).
- Entries will be accepted up to race day through the following registration fees:
       1 - The amount of the registration fee is 5€ until August 8;
       2 - Registration on race day is 10 €.

11 - RATINGS AND TIME LIMITS
The individual classification shall be made as follows:
- Absolute, Absolute by genre and rating category.
- In order for the swimmer to get a place in any of the classifications, he as to complete the distance of proof within the following time limits:
- Absolute Rating
- Time of the absolute winner plus 30 minutes
- Absolute Rate by Gender

- Time of the absolute winner of each gender plus 30 minutes
- Classification by Category
- Time of the absolute winner of each gender plus 30 minutes
- Classification by Category (Masters)
- Time of 1st Master Swimmer of each gender plus 30 minutes

 The collective rating:
- There will also be created a ratings list for absolute category, teams, resulting from the sum of individual time elements of each team, being the first ranked, the team with the lowest accumulated time and so on.
 

 

12 – PRIZES

The three first ranked athletes of each gender, from the Absolute and Master category, and also the three first teams, will be awarded with a prize.

It will be given a “veteran Prize” to the oldest athlete of both genders competing on the several events within the I Meeting of Open Waters Sra. D’Agonia.

There will be an award “Prize Money” (still to be regulated)



13 – REFEREEING
The refereeing of the I Meeting of Open Water Swimming Sra. d'Agonia will be the responsibility of the elements of the Swimming Association of Minho Regional Council of Referees.

 


14 - PROTESTS
Protests will be accepted by the referee of the competition until 30 minutes after the publication of the results of each event. They must be submitted in writing by the team director or individual swimmer.
The submission of a protest implies the obligation to follow up with the importance of 65 €, refundable if the same host favorable decision.
When a protest is filed shall constitute a jury of Appeal, composed of the following elements:
• FPN assigned delegate
• Chairman of the Organizing Committee
• Representative of the Regional Association / District
The Jury of Appeal shall meet and act immediately, being its decision final and not subject to appeal.


15 - OMISSIONS
Omissions in this Regulation shall be resolved by the Organization in accordance with the General Regulations of the Portuwimming Federation.
